This is a non-registered plant from Dr. Fumio Maekawa from Japan.

There seems to be some confusion about this plant's name. According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "I'm not sure that I've ever really seen this plant. In 1995 our The American Hosta Society tour group was taken to a bamboo forest near Iwakumi (Honshu Island, Japan) and shown plants called "H. longissima var. brevifolia "...The general consensus of our group was that this was more like Hosta sieboldii than H. longissima."
