This sport of H. 'Island Charm' was registered by Alex Malloy of New York in 2000. It grows into a medium size hosta about 16 inches in height with a spread of 45 inches. It bears medium purple flowers in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...this is named for the "Green Lama" action figure, not the animal."
