All of the hosta cultivars discussed in The Hosta Helper website are included in the over 13,700 hosta names in our database. We have developed many lists for various leaf, flower and plant characteristics. One of our favorite versions is listings of such features alphabetically by the first letter of the hosta cultivar name.

Cultivar Name - Lists all of the over 13,700 hosta names in our database.


Base Leaf Colors - A base leaf color is one that covers at least 60% of the surface area. According to The American Hosta Society (AHS) registration process, there are three base colors including green, blue-green and yellow.


Leaf Variegation Type - There are three types of leaf variegation recognized for hostas including marginal (edge), medial (center) and streaked.


Base Flower Color - We have lists of the basic flower color of hostas including White (pure white and near white), Lavender (pale lavender and medium lavender) and Purple (pale purple and deep purple).


Plant Size - The AHS recognizes five clump or plant sizes for hostas including Giant, Large, Medium, Small and Miniature.
