montana 'Yae-no-Oba'.
Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term oba or ooba as large leaf or 'Oba Gibōshi' which is the Japanese name for the species H. montana.
