Originated by Clarence (C.H.) Falstad, III of Michigan and patented by Walters Gardens, Inc. of Michigan, this non-registered cultivar is a tissue culture sport of the species, Hosta plantaginea. It was sold under the Trademark name 'WHITE SHOULDERS'.
