Originated in 2004 by Jeroen Linneman of the Netherlands, this non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Kifukurin Ubatake'. It is a small size hosta with dark green foliage with thick substance.

MyHostas website indicates that H. 'Devon Green' is possibly the pollen parent.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term kifukurin or ki fukurin as yellow edge(d) or yellow margin(ed).
