Hosta 'Theo's Blue'
 

 

This non-registered cultivar is a hybrid of H. pycnophylla is from Theo Leydens and Dr. Ben J.M. Zonneveld of the . The medium size (15 to 18 inches  high by 25 inches wide) plant has rich blue-green leaves that are ovate shaped and very waxy with purple petioles. It bears lavender colored flowers.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Best grown at eye level to appreciate the plant's many qualities, but away from tree canopies to avoid falling detritus from marking the leaves...Ideal for situations where leaves with only a hint of blue are wanted...Leaf underside is covered with a thick, white coating. Most of the leaf blade undulations occur along the base and the lower half of the leaf."
