The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Best grown at eye level to appreciate the plant's
many qualities, but away from tree canopies to avoid falling detritus from
marking the leaves...Ideal for situations where leaves with only a hint of blue
are wanted...Leaf underside is covered with a thick, white coating. Most of the
leaf blade undulations occur along the base and the lower half of the leaf."
