Hosta 'Overserved'

This cultivar was listed on the MyHostas Database website. Originated by Shady Characters Nursery of South Carolina, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage but has H. 'Ogon Koba' in its background. It is a fast growing, small size hosta with yellow foliage that turns lighter as the season progresses. The leaves are lanceolate in shape and have a very wide petiole.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term koba as small leaf, 'Koba Gibōshi' or H. sieboldii and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow.
