There is an image of this
cultivar on the Hosta Library. From the photo on the HL website, it appears to be a medium
size hosta with dark green leaves and yellow marginal variegation. This non-registered cultivar was
originated in England and was introduced by
Cynthia Tompkins
of Nebraska.
According to an article
on
MyHosta database, this hosta has a very long
history. It was purchased in England in 1924 by Cynthia
Tompkins' husband (Chet's father). It was labeled "SIEBOLDIANA
GLAUCANS Golden Edged" and has traits similar to the
later discovered classic, H. 'Frances Williams',
but smaller in size. This plant was used extensively in
the hybridizing program of Cynthia Tompkins.
