H. montana
'Ōgon Oba'

This is a non-registered form of H. montana from Japan. It becomes a medium to large size mound of gold colored foliage. They bear very pale lavender flowers in July.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow and the term oba or ooba as large leaf, 'Oba Gibōshi' or H. montana.
