Hosta 'Nathan Hale'

This is another H. 'Elegans' type of plant (of unidentified parentage ) that was originated by Rocknoll Nursery of Ohio and registered on their behalf by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It has blue-green foliage and forms a large size plant about 24 inches high by 48 inches wide. The leaves are moderately corrugated, broadly ovate, slightly cupped and has a glaucous bloom on top. Near white, tubular flowers bloom from mid-June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...may be the same as 'Dr. Hale'."

Nathan Hale (1755-1776) was a soldier in the American Revolutionary War who was quoted as saying, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."
