Hosta 'Mercy Me'

Originated by Harold McDonell of Georgia, this cultivar was registered in 2021 as a seedling of [(H. 'Marilyn Monroe' x H. 'Maekawa') x (H. 'One Man's Treasure' x H. 'Gilt by Association')] ×  H. kiyosumiensis. It is a medium size (17 inches high by 37 inches wide) hosta with dark green foliage. The ovate, slightly shiny leaves are moderately twisted, moderately wavy and have a mid-rib hump on mature leaves. It produces medium lavender flowers with stripes from late June into July and sets viable seeds.

According to the Registration materials: "Wildly unruly dark green leaves with prominent mid-rib humps and long twisted tips...changes from gold to apple green..."

"Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)" was the second single from Marvin Gaye's 1971 album, What's Going On.
