				  Originated by
Jan van den Top of the
					Netherlands and registered by
Danny Van Eechaute of
Belgium in 2004, this cultivar is a sport of a streaked form of H. 'Beauty
Little Blue'. It was granted a U.S. patent in 2008. 'Little Jay' is a miniature size,
				rhizomatous plant growing to only
3 inches in height
and 7 inches in width. Leaves are narrow (lanceolate), slightly rippled, dull on
top and tapering to the tip. The
lavender flowers bloom from June into July.

The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack
(2010) says: "Too much sun in warmer climates may burn out the
center of this pretty variety, the best and most attractive of this type and
ideal for containers and troughs."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
				Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Soon exceeds its registered dimensions. One of the
best and most attractive hostas of this type. Grow with H. 'Mighty
Mite' for contrast of leaf shape...The blue-toned green leaf
edge looks its best early in the season. The leaf widens and
flattens as it matures, the lobes becoming tapered."
