Hosta 'Cuyahoga'

Registered in 2009 by Mark Zilis of Illinois, this cultivar is a cross between H. 'Dorothy Benedict' × H. 'Swoosh'. The semi-upright mound grows into a large size hosta about 20 inches high with a spread of 41 inches. Its leaves have a glaucous bloom on top and bottom. They are slightly wavy, slightly corrugated and are broadly ovate with a cordate base. Its tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into August.

Cuyahoga is a river in northern Ohio which was once known for catching fire since it was so polluted. Implementation of clean water laws have since greatly improved its water quality.
