Hosta 'Columbus Circle'

Originated by Vic Santa Lucia of North Carolina and introduced by Iron Gate Gardens, this plant is a sport of a green seedling derived from H. 'Iron Gate Glamour' × H. 'Frances Williams'. It was registered on his behalf by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009.

'Columbus Circle' is a medium size hosta growing to around 17 inches in height with a spread of about 42 inches. The medium to dark green foliage has a white marginal variegation. Its leaves are slightly rippled, broadly ovate, cupped, slightly rippled and have a glaucous bloom on the bottom. Very pale lavender flowers bloom from mid-July to August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "For unknown reasons, few collectors grow this attractive plant and even fewer nurseries offer it for sale."
