This H. nakaiana-type plant was registered by Florence Shaw of Massachusetts in 1986. It is a medium size hosta has medium gold foliage and grows to around 15 inches in height with a spread of about 47 inches. Lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "I've always had a difficult time distinguishing between 'Birchwood Gold' and 'Birchwood Parky's Gold'."
